A surviving relic from the practices of witches passed, the green man has defied time and various oppressors and become a common figurehead in many aspects of modern culture. His likeness is even found woven like vines into the decorations of Catholic churches going back as far as 400AD.
Through time the green man has survived and today is recognized in a variety of different practices. For some Celts he is symbolic of the stag forest god Cernunnos, for some sects of Wicca he may represent the horned god and for other the Greek Pan.
Wherever he is found though, greenery and life follow so I created this piece using a brilliant green pendant with hand beaded leaves and a Sterling silver green man charm.
